SSC CGL from the inside — one graduate, one small town, one full-time job, three attempts.

Rajesh has a B.Com and a billing job at a medicine distributor, eleven thousand rupees a month. A retired Excise Superintendent tells him to write the Combined Graduate Level Examination. He studies around his job — two hours before work, one after — and prints his mock tests at the photocopy shop opposite the bus stand, where the owner starts calling him Inspector. It is not meant kindly.

He misses the 2023 Tier 1 because of twenty-two careless marks. He clears the 2024 Tier 1 and misses the final list because of two weak sections. And in the third attempt he fixes both — and is selected as an Inspector of Central GST and Central Excise.

It opens with the whole SSC CGL syllabus at a glance — every section of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Paper I, Computer Knowledge, the typing test, and Papers II and III, with the topics that actually come and one working idea for each. That section is in the free sample.

Every chapter ends with Rajesh's notebook — the practical part: the pattern and marks, the posts and pay levels, age limits, arithmetic from the NCERT books up, squares, cubes and fraction tables, reasoning question types, forty grammar rules, general awareness without drowning, preparing while working, honest mocks, exam-day strategy, normalisation, the five-pile error notebook, geometry and trigonometry, guessing arithmetic for Tier 2, the new sectional timers, the typing test, the preference form and the physical test.

The last pages are a complete step-by-step plan from the first day to the final list, for full-time candidates and for those who work.

Rajesh is a fictional character. Every fact about the examination has been checked against the Staff Selection Commission's notices and published results for 2023 to 2026.

Five parts, twenty-three chapters, an epilogue, and the plan.
